CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Creative movement
is a style of dance taught to younger children. Movement is one of the first forms of communication. Starting at infancy children
love to move. Creative movement helps students use their imagination and express themselves through music. They learn to communicate
feelings, images, and ideas through movement. Children perceive the world through their senses. All senses are engaged when
children explore different aspects of movement. Creative movement increases social skills where children learn as they explore
movement together. Cognitive learning is stimulated by movement. When children are engaged in creative movement, they are
involved in activities that will increase their memory and ability to communicate. It helps students learn body awareness,
concentration, self-control, and respect. They will develop a great self-esteem. They learn self-expression as well.
